With the impending demise of the Coast Line Oil Cans, I spent the end of 2018 trying to catch them whenever I could. On this morning, I ventured over to the LA River for a shot there. Much to my surprise, I heard their recrew crew tell the Metrolink River Sub DS that they were taking the Alhambra Sub east, so I scrambled to the new interlocking at Worth for a shot. Evidently, there was an all day work window on the East Bank of the River Sub below Pasadena Jct., which necessitated the convoluted 30~ mile detour move via City of Industry. This was the only time I ever heard of the Cans running on this route.
