The Vicksburg local out of Jackson scoots across the CN at Switchtender on the south side of Jackson. A CN oil train will be the last to go to the KCS to park for an outbound crew to take to Meridian this afternoon. Both train just watched a massive 12,000 foot Artesia to Shreveport freight go west 1st.
The Iron Horse Grill in the background has seen its fate over the years. The building was built in 1906 as the Armour Smokehouse and then expanded in 1930. After being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the 80's, the Iron Horse Grill opened. The Tex-Mex restaurant suffered 2 fires in 1999 and was closed a long time. Seems the place is back open, rebuilt from the ruins, and thriving now as a Jackson Legendary Landmark.
