With the construction season well under way, the small Milford-Bennington Railroad comes back to life. Normally dormant in Winter, the sole purpose of this little railroad is run stone from a quarry in South Lyndenboro, NH to Granite State Concrete plant in Milford, NH. Using just over 3 miles of the Pan Am Railways "Hillsboro Branch" and about 5 miles of State owned trackage, the crew typically makes 2 or 3 runs a day.
Here, the crew shoves 10 empties back North over the Souhegan River in Milford, NH to be loaded at the quarry. This was their second of three trips for this day and keeps the SW9 hard at work!
