| I had my drone on my 338 trip for hopes of shooting the CP business train, but a 21:30 arrival in Dubuque ended up not working for my work schedule. Instead I went after the train I just handed off to a Chicago Crew for the trip to Hawthorne Yard. The CN follows the Galena River and tributaries from Portage towards Scales Mound as the railroad climbs out of the Mississippi River Valley. Between Portage and Galena the railroad snakes along in the middle of no where, but a break in the tree are found next to Turtle Pond. The engineer has the dynamic working as he slows the 12,000 ton train down for the 10 mph thru Galena. |
