CSXT 8803 and NS 8712 are in the CSX Monroe Yard in North Carolina on a work train in September 2004. 8803 was built in 1977 as Conrail (CR) EMD SD40-2 6373. With the Conrail split in 1999, it became CSX 8803. She still wears the special emblem she received in 1998 to commemorate the Juniata Locomotive Shops working 2 million man-hours without an injury.
Norfolk Southern 8712 wa built in 1991 as GE 40-8 8712. In 2016, she was rebuilt to C40-8.5W 8511. |
