Remarks & Notes
Mixed train 421, better known as the Polar Bear Express, hustles north on its way to Moosanee and James Bay with a good number of motor vehicles, a specially outfitted box car, APU, and usual passenger consist in tow. On this snowy fall morning, 1802's crisp yellow cab along with sister 1808 in its brand new Every Child Matters scheme, reminding us all of the importance of truth and reconciliation, are standing out nicely against the remaining yellows painting the backdrop. The subarctic climate is distinctly different here north of Cochrane and the already sparse leaves will be gone long before areas further south.
