The travel agency ZRT Reisen organized over New Year's Eve/New Year's Day a 3-day trip with a special train in the style of the Belle Epoque to Eastern Switzerland. On New Year's Day, train 31426 is en route from St.Gallen via the line of the former Bodensee-Toggenburg-Bahn (BT, today SOB) to Herisau-Degersheim-Lichtensteig-Wattwil, through the Rickentunnel to Uznach-Rapperswil-Pfäffikon SZ, then via the line of the Südostbahn (SOB) via Biberbrugg to Arth Goldau, via Immensee-Küssnacht am Rigi to Lucerne. Later, the train traveled through Entlebuch and Emmental to Bern, then to Fribourg and Lausanne. Pulled by Re 421 # 393 (in TRANS EUROP EXPRESS livery) and Re 421 # 387 (in RHEINGOLD livery) of International Rolling Stock Investment AG (IRSI), the train crosses the highest railroad viaduct in Switzerland, the 99 meter high and 365 meter long Sitter viaduct between St.Gallen Haggen and Gübsensee, which was built between 1908 and 1910. In the foregound, the old covered wooden bridge over the Urnäsch creek, built in 1780 by Ulrich Grubenmann. The viaduct of the SBB Gossau-St.Gallen line can be seen in the background. Below the large viaduct with a main span of 120 meter is the Kubel power station, very first storage power station of Switzerland, built in 1900 (the large building from 1907). The train has 3 formerly German coaches, now marketed under the "Suisse Train Bleu" brand, as well as the 3 Prestige Continental Express (PCE) coaches (2 dining cars, 1 bar car), all also from IRSI.
