During the afternoon of January 17th, 2023, Metro-North Railroad's new self-propelled Engineering Inspection Vehicle, "IC 2020", starts down the "Front Lead" while performing track geometry inspections within New Haven Yard in Connecticut. IC 2020 was commissioned by Metro-North in 2016 and completed by ENSCO Incorporated in 2020. It features the latest laser, optical and inertial sensor systems to analyze the condition of the rail and track infrastructure, alerting onboard Metro-North engineering specialists to any track anomalies.
