Climbing up and over Beaumont Hill, Union Pacific UPS Expedited Intermodal train ZLAMQ-19 makes its way from Los Angeles to Mesquite TX. UP SDSD70ACe 8989 is teamed with other diesels (ES44ACs 2554 and 5492, and AC4400CW 7261, along with mid-train DPUs AC4400CW 6494 and SD70ACe 8703) to defy gravity in moving this train to the 2612-foot (796.75 meters) altitude, from which it will head downhill into the lower Mojave Desert and, at Niland, to well below sea-level - 141-feet below sea level (-42.97 meters)!
