| Probably one of the cooler shots on the MRL is the shot of trains leaving Helena on the 3rd Sub. After cutting in the MRL manned helpers at Helena Jct (MP 3), the train goes right to a fight to climb Mullan Pass. The track here goes from flat at Helena Jct (signals behind the train), to a 1.6% grade in 1 mile. At MP 10 the grade will go to 2.2% for the next 10 miles to Blossburg (MP 21) and the Continental Divide. |
