| "Passenger Geep PTC Testing on the Mets"
On the morning of April 4th, 2023, Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT)/CTrail EMD GP40-3H 6699 sits on the point of a Metro-North Railroad PTC test train as it holds for revenue traffic at Stamford station in Connecticut. The goal of the test train was to perform a round trip on the New Haven branch lines to ensure the proper operation of locomotive's PTC system prior to final release into revenue service. Metro-North is leasing locomotives from CTDOT to assist with fleet size while the remainder of their Brookville BL20GHs are sent out for rebuild.
