A408, lead by a duo of Illinois Central SD70s, cruises South through Neoga. A few miles to the North, in Mattoon, they met Northbound A407, which was also powered by two Illinois Central SD70s. It was pretty neat to see two separate trains powered by solid IC power in 2023. I was definitely taken back to my younger years of growing up along the former IC in Freeport, IL. Illinois Central power seemed to be a dime a dozen back in the early to mid 2000s. Now, it is a rare treat to come across something like this.
