The alternator on BNSF ACe 9375 had failed at the worst possible time on a loaded coal train, stranding the train in a snowstorm, halfway through Palmer Lake, Colorado. The call for a helper unit saw BNSF 6407 (ES44AC) leave the Spruce siding and lash up to the train, providing enough muscle to push the train through Palmer Lake and over the Palmer Divide.
