Remarks & Notes
Gray Granite. Gray Granite Railroad 1903 (Plymouth 35-ton) is seen leading a short train down the railroad's short line. Currently only slightly longer than 1/4 mile in length, the Gray Granite Railroad is being built from scratch at Cavanna's Farm in South Glastonbury, CT - the "man with the plan," John Cavanna is seen leading out the window of the locomotive. Fittingly the ballast for the line is gray granite from the quarry on the farm. The flat car is built on the frame of a former New Haven Railroad boxcar, and the caboose is former Long Island Rail Road.
