| KINGMAN AZ May 24 1984 — Santa Fe GP35u 2901 awaits an assignment. EMD built the unit in August 1965 as GP35 1401 and delivered it in Blue body with yellow ends (bookends) paint scheme. During the March-July 1970 general renumbering it became 3401. After August 26 1972 it was painted in Blue body with yellow warbonnet. In April 1984 it was rebuilt as a GP35u, numbered 2901 and gained air conditioning on the cab roof. In September it was transferred to BNSF. On Nov 10 1999 it was renumbered to 2601 and relettered BNSF. My photo. |
