Aqua Train.
NJ Transit Aqua Track car no. 9933 is bringing up the rear of a short MOW train seen passing through Newark Broad St Station, returning to Hoboken Yard. Residue from crushed leaves on the rails can have adverse affects on train acceleration and braking, so during the fall season the railroad operates two of these "Aqua Trains" along all of their lines. The trains consist of tank cars and sprayer cars , which use high-pressure water jets to wash the rails. This year the Hoboken Division aqua train consists of sprayer car 9933 and tank cars 9310 and 9308, hauled by GP40-2 no. 4105.
