| On December 15, 2023, the Bay Colony Railroad ended operations after 41 and ½ years of service. On their last day, the crew ran both the 1706 and 1705 on the Watuppa Branch to interchange cars with Mass Coastal in New Bedford. I was lucky enough to make a sign that was posted on the engines to commemorate the last run. Here the train is posing for a photo at a private crossing west of Old Reed Road after dropping cars at Mid City Scrap. |
