Diesels Departing.
On January 23, 2024, Amtrak Keystone train 600 suffered a mechanical failure in New Jersey on its way to New York. Amtrak KN720 was dispatched to rescue the train with GP15D locomotives 574 and 570. The pair pulled the stricken train up to Newark Penn Station, where ACS-64 no. 662 was waiting to take over for the remainder of the trip to New York Penn.
KN720 then headed out of the station to the east, clearing the track for 662 to come in and couple on.
