New Colors.
South Brooklyn Railway (SBK) R47 locomotive N2 (GE, 1974) is seen on the north end of a work train at Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center Station on the BMT 4th Avenue Line. The SBK is a freight railroad owned by the City of New York and operated by the New York City Transit Authority, which nowadays is only used to move TA equipment onto and off the property. The SBK locomotives, N1 and N2, are the same model used by the TA, and are pooled with other TA work equipment. Until recently N2 was painted red with white stripes and bore South Brooklyn Railway logos, but now sports the same yellow and green paint scheme as other TA work equipment with only its number indicating that it is different. N1 still sports the SBK red paint, though it is very faded and is likely due for repainting.
