Heading east on the BNSF Railway's Emporia Sub is BNSF Priority UPS-LTL Intermodal train Z-ALTWSP7-23A. This spot, the "ghost town" of Ellinor, just east of Strong City, Kansas, is the junction of the BNSF's busy Emporia Sub, and it is here that the La Junta Sub diverges to cross Kansas as well, notably on which Amtrak's Southwest Chief is routed. This train, with ET44C4 3817, ES44C4 8142 and ET44C4 3954 for power, is heading for Willow Springs, Illinois, from Alliance, Texas. (Ellinor, Kansas – March 23, 2024)
