Iryo, a private high speed operator in Spain, was launched in November 2021, which ran on the Madrid to Barcelona high speed rail line. The company is jointly owned by the Italian state owned railway company Trenitalia, the Spanish regional airline Air Nostrum, and the Spanish infrastructure investment fund Globalvia.
The Frecciarossa 1000 high speed trainset 109 016, built by Hitachi Rail Italy, is on the way from Barcelona Sants to Madrid Puerta de Atocha.
