Remarks & Notes
The BNSF YWAT2041 Relief Job climbs Monoco Hill in Lawndale, California, on May 5, 2024. The train has run up from Watson Yard in Wilmington, made some drops and pulls at El Segundo, and performed a turn and burn, heading back south minutes later. Power is a typical GP60M-3 rebuild/GP60 combo. If you look closely, every tree has a red ribbon tied around the trunk. Signs indicate that these are death markers, the trees to be cut down for the extension of LA Metro to Torrance, however it's not clear to me if that is real or they are there as a form of protest. The neighbors through here are very much against the Metro extension.
