The Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain railroad (BLM), which belongs to the Jungfraubahn Holding, consists of an aerial cableway from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp and a meter-gauge adhesion railroad a good 4 kilometers long from Grütschalp via the Winteregg crossing station to Mürren. StadlerRail is supplying three new Be 4/6 # 101 to # 103 double railcars for the Grütschalp-Mürren line. The first vehicle # 102 was delivered in October 2023 already for tests. On 13 and 14 May 2024, the two car bodies of train # 101 "Eiger" were transported by special transport from Lauterbrunnen (797 meter a.s.l.) via mountain roads to Winteregg (1578 meter a.s.l.), where they were mounted on the bogies. The special vehicle "Castor + Pollux", which belongs to the company Mountaintrans AG, was used for the transport. Von Rotz & Wiedemar Seilbahnen in Kriens, in collaboration with Wipfli Transporte AG, is responsible for the know-how, operation and maintenance. The journey on the 7,5 kilomter long, partly not paved road to the Winteregg needed about 4 hours. The transport is now below Winteregg, with the village of Wengen on the other valley side. The Castor+Pollux special transport vehicle travels at approximately walking speed and is radio-controlled by operators on foot.
