Remarks & Notes |
A train that originated at the Cemex plant about 5 miles south of here begins its journey. This train full of cement products and limestone aggregates has been plying these rails since at least the early 1980s. This train is heading north (directionally east at the moment) on the former Missouri Pacific, a line that has been here for over 140 years, and is hitting the diamond of the former Missouri-Kansas-Texas line from San Antonio north to Smithville, Texas. Depots for Mopac (now a train club/museum) and MKT (burned down circa 1980, if I remember correctly) were/are both about 3 blocks away from this interlocking.
