The Atlas Model Railroad Company began operating in 1924, and thus this year, 2024, is their 100th Anniversary. Halfway through this year, I was fortunate enough to catch NJ Transit ALP-45DP 4503 pulling train 1215 out of Secaucus Junction station on its way from Hoboken to Waldwick, with this special locomotive on the point. The Bombardier ALP-45DP locomotives are dual power, able to operate with a diesel engine or from overhead wires (thus, the pantograph in this locomotive, even though there is no catenary on this line). Congratulations to Atlas and their employees, some of whom I have known through the years, for achieving this Centennial milestone! (Secaucus, New Jersey – July 2, 2024)
