Remarks & Notes |
Mann Railway Museum.
Isle of Man Railway 2-4-0T locomotives no. 1 Sutherland and no. 5 Mona are seen on display at the Isle of Man Steam Railway Museum in Port Erin. No. 1 is the only one of the original three 1873-built Beyer, Peacock & Co. locomotives remaining at the railway; No. 2 Derby was scrapped - the only Isle of Man Railway locomotive to meet such fate - and No. 3 Pender was cannibalized for parts and subsequently sent to the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, where it was sectioned and is currently on display. No. 5 was part of the second batch of locomotives, built in 1874. |
