| G691 emerges from the Nolichucky Gorge at Poplar on the Blue Ridge Sub and is about to meet a northbound at the siding just ahead. This bridge, along with most or all of the track northward to the Nolichucky crossing at Chestoa was destroyed in the epochal flooding caused by Helene on September 27, 2024. The bridge at Chestoa/Unaka Springs survived. |
