Crossing the Mississippi River from Venice, Illinois, into Saint Louis, Missouri, is a westbound Terminal Railroad Association of Saint Louis freight 100, heading from TRRA's Madison Yard to Norfolk Southern's Luther Yard, pulled by the TRRA's two SD60I locomotives: TRRA 4001 (ex-CSXT 8736, née-CR 5612) and 4002 (ex-CSXT 8744, née-CR 5631). The Merchants Bridge (officially the Merchants Memorial Mississippi Rail Bridge) is a rail bridge was opened in May 1889. The bridge is owned by the TRRA, although it also carries rail traffic of BNSF Railway, Union Pacific and Amtrak. (Saint Louis, Missouri – October 4, 2024)
