Remarks & Notes
2-6-2 tank steamlocomotive # 5526 of the South Devon Railway will leave Buckfastleigh with the 14.15 h train to Totnes Riverside, on the heritage open days. The locomotive of the class 4575 was built in Swindon in 1928 for the Great Western Railway, designed by Charles Collett, and was withdrawn by the British Railway in 1962. # 5526 was rescued from Barry scrapyard in 1985, going first to Swindon where restoration started, before being purchased by SDR based 5526 Ltd who moved her to Buckfastleigh where restoration was completed.
