| The Carolinian comes off the wye at Southern Junction after turning the train in a fairly rare move. This routing was the norm for these trains when the S Line main was in place between here and Petersburg. Plans are for it to eventually be reinstated which will hopefully provide new opportunities to see regular passenger service on this route. Today, this wye is typically only used by CSX and NS locals by Piedmont transets deadheading to and from their yard. |
