| The Texas Eagle is slowly working towards the next station stop at St. Louis. The train is about to pass thru the Laclede’s Landing area and will pass the STL Arch in a mile. The Ashley Street Power House sits along the Mississippi River in the background. The plant was originally built in 1903 as a coal-burning plant to provide electricity to the 1904 World’s Fair, which was located six miles away in Forest Park. Now days the natural gas powered plant is used for steam for the city of STL. |
