Remarks & Notes
Whisking commuters home to Long Beach from Los Angeles is a set of three Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority P865 LRVs. This is the Blue Line, generally built upon the last of the mighty Pacific Electric's lines, and the first of many light rail lines to be built once again in Los Angeles County, with more being constructed leading into the city's hosting of the 2028 Summer Olympics. The PE's Long Beach Line ceased operations in 1961, after 59 years of operation, and I was fortunate enough to have ridden it not long before service ended. I may have been in kindergarten, but I still have memories of riding PE "Blimps" on that trip. (Long Beach, California – June 22, 2015)
