Remarks & Notes
The 4.7-kilometre-long meter-gauge adhesion railroad, also known as the “Panoramabahn” from Grütschalp to Mürren (BLM Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen-Mürren) is the continuation of the aerial cableway from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp. The traction vehicle fleet is currently being completely replaced. Three new articulated railcars Be 4/6 # 101 to # 103 from StadlerRail are being put into operation. The previous vehicles all had to be transported from Winteregg station some 780 meters downhill over narrow forest roads to Lauterbrunnen, just like the new ones in opposite direction. On this day, the CFe 2/4 (BDe 2/4) # 11 railcar, built in 1913 by SIG and MFO, was transported away with the special vehicle “Castor + Pollux”. For many years, it had only been used very rarely for special trips. It will be on display at the Swiss Transport Museum (VHS) in Lucerne from summer 2025. The "Castor + Pollux" special vehicle just reached the station square of Lauterbrunnen with railcar # 11 loaded.
