Remarks & Notes |
The UP SD90MAC's made a small return to service in the summer of 2018. Unfortunately that didn't last long and most of the 90's are stored or off property to the NS. Back in 2000, these units were really the only EMD type units in coal service for the UP. These big beast would show up mainly on coal trains as seen here. They look kind of neat with a trio of them as this northbound coal train transverses the Spineline enroute to St. Paul and points north. Seen here passing thru Bradford working over the Spineline from Iowa falls to the next crew change point at Mason City, IA.
Scanned slide from February 2000. |
