Remarks & Notes
Downtown Downpour | Running light, Arkansas & Missouri engines 68 and 44 roll through downtown Rogers, AR in a heavy rainfall around 3 o'clock in the morning on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Heading back to the depot in Springdale, the crew on board finished dumping sand at a concrete plant on the Bentonville branch line a few minutes prior.

The reason railpictures.net has captured my imagination for so many years. Images of quality and distinction, in other words, amazing railroad photography.

A gallery of Storm light, and everything in between, done right and true. The most fabulous Storm Light rail photography ever captured like only railpictures.net can accomplish.

For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.

Some of the most spectacular photos of trains are in the worst weather. Here's some outstanding work by photographers who braved the elements!
Nocturnal Nuances: Sunset To Sunrise & All Through The Night!

Album created by member Dana M.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
