| FS Trenitalia Intercity train 511, traveling the 994 km route from Turin to Salerno, is guided into the south tunnel at Monterosso station by a powerful CAF E401 electric locomotive. The E401, a rebuilt unit from the original E402 series, has been adapted with a single cab to enable efficient push-pull operation on Italy's scenic long-haul routes.
