Rolling in to Caltrain's San Antonio station is Caltrain 313, with cab/bike car 114 leading, and F40PH-2 915 for power on the rear. These commuter trains are operated by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, which will soon be replacing these diesel-powered trains with new Electric Multiple Unit trains built by Stadler Rail - which explains the catenary already in place. Where once there was only one commuter carrier, Southern Pacific between San Jose and San Francisco, today there are three: Caltrain (former SP), Altamont Commuter Express, and the newest, SMART (Sonoma-Marin Rapid Transit).
