On this day, the “Pullman locomotive” Ge 4/4 II # 626 of the Rhaetian Railway, christened Alby Glatt the day before, pulled the “Alpine Classic Pullman Express” (ACPE) for the first time in the appropriate color scheme, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2025. The train can be seen here as transfer train 9942 from Scuol-Tarasp to Guarda in Ardez. Passengers visited the village of Guarda before midday and then re-boarded the train for lunch in the dining cars at the rear of the train, on the journey through the Vereina Tunnel via Landquart-Chur-Albula line to Samedan.
