At sunset, as Metrolink train 606 departs the Fullerton station on Track 1, BNSF Intermodal Stacks S-LHGLPC1-30A, bound for Chicago, Illinois’ Logistics Park from the Los Angeles Harbor, holds for a red signal on BNSF San Bernardino Sub’s Track 2. It is holding for Metrolink trian 608, arriving soon on Track 3 but, due to another Metrolink train striking a pedestrian in Anaheim, it will cross to Track 2 and head to Atwood, in Placentia, then reverse and travel down Metrolink’s Olive Sub, by passing Anaheim, to continue its trip from Los Angeles to Oceanside. This freight has a long way to go, and it seems to have adequate power (with ES44DC 7462. ES44C4 6636, Dash 9-44CW 4491 and ES44C4 6901 supplying 17,600 horsepower), so this brief delay shouldn’t affect it much. (Fullerton, California – March 30, 2012)
