The WNYP's Falconer Turn consisted of two jobs that would meet in Falconer, New York where the crews would interchange their trains before and then head back to their home terminals. The OL-2 crew was based out of Olean and will still run to serve customers in Falconer, and the ME-1 crew based out of Meadville, that will no longer run here as WNYP discontinued service over the line west of Jamestown. The crews are making this swap for one of the last times on a March afternoon, with the ME-1's 427 and 430 tied on to the cars bound for Meadville while the OL-2's 435 and 432 back on to the cars that ME-1 brought in.
New York state has the largest number of ALCO diesel locomotives working in everyday service. Here are some of them. Soon I hope to chronicle all of them.
