I have no clue what the story is behind this GP9, but the front end is looking a little sad. I have seen this in person before at the Intersection of SantaFe Ave & Geer Rd. just north of Turlock, Ca. It used to be kept in a chain-link fence area- guess that's no more. Here's the link to the aerial view:

No doubt the industry needed a car stop and 1601 was handier and more economical than the ones in the Aldon Catalog!

Actually, this photo was taken at Geer Road. In the chain-link fence area was a Santa Fe switcher that I did not get a closer look at.
