I know this is about 13 years late - but really remarkable photo Wade. If there is one, I would like to know the story behind those two passenger cars sitting on that section of stub and nearly-buried abandoned track?!

As a follow-up comment to my previous one: I just looked at Google Maps and went to "Street View" on the Smithfield Street Bridge (seen in the background of the above photo)...and those two passenger cars are no longer there. There is a passenger coach/caboose now sitting where the red car in the above photo is sitting. I would still like to know the story behind these two - and the one that is there now taking their place!

Thanks, Dana. To the best of my knowledge, those cars were part of Station Square, one of Pittsburgh's primary tourist areas. Also on display, a ladle car and an early blast furnace. The area to the right of the photo is currently being redeveloped, a large new apartment complex is under construction.
