In other parts of the country, farmers use John Deere tractors to harvest the crops or mow the grass....interesting.

No Doubt about it, he is getting no traction what-so-ever. I have seen some bad grass covered right-of-ways, but nothing this bad. WOW
I like it, the shot is very unique. Talk about getting put out to pasture! Nice work.
I'm sure this SD9 ran on some bad and overgrown track when it ran for Espee, but this is incredible!
You could get hit by a train and not even know you were standing on the tracks!

All you fellow Stings fans out there join along with me: "You'll remember me when the west wind moves/Upon the fields of barley/You'll forget the sun in his jealous skyAs we walk in fields of gold." Not sure about the barley part, though.

This line must have been dormant for years!
Thats what you call "off railing"!
Wow, that very interesting, great shot! I believe that unit is an ex-SP SD-9, just look at the extrusion above the headlight, once held the Mars flashing light.
Now are you sure that they are not just trying to cut the grass with an EMD SD9E?
Looks like the locomotive is in the field by it's self and not on tracks.
