Nice shot! You'd think that the train would have to be out of the "circuit" of the automatic interlocking before a conflicting train could get a clear signal through the diamond?

Matt, the interlocking is remotely controled by the CP RTC MacTier in Montreal, there is no conflicting problems since I've seen it many times before while down there, the sole purpose of signals 59S & 59N is to govern movement to the Galt Subdivision and have no control in the West Toronto interlocking whatsoever. There is another set of signals just east of there (57-1 & 57-2) which do control the interlocking and govern movements over the diamond and onto the Galt Sub.

That signal controls track beyond the diamond so it can be lined while a train is crossing the diamond.
