Looks like the conductor is giving you the finger ...

I hope it's nothing personal. I hadn't noticed, but I'm quite sure you're right.

Actually it sorta looks like a cigarette. But great shot either way!!!

1st of all, EXCELLENT shot!!! 2nd, it looks to me that the conductor is holding a cigarette or something else between his fingers. The shadows on his hand don't look right for him to be "waving" at you.

I thought the "Bird" ran on the CNW...

I don't think he's flipping the bird, it looks like he's holding onto something...

Actually he appears to be holding something in his hand, something white? Regardless...terrific pan/speed shot!

I would say He is eating something if you look real close!

Zoom in and look at the conductors hand. That 'bird' appears to be protruding from between his thumbs and index finger. I think he's holding a notebook or something. Pretty sure he's not saluting you.

Having received the 'bird', finger etc many times....I would tend to belive it is the finger! Especially when combined with the look on his face. I think it would be a great shot to send to CPR's public relations office and see what they have to say about it!

Great conversation starter, but I vote notabird

After careful study and zooming of the origianl 3000 by 2000 image, I an happy to say that I was NOT in fact saluted. It is a rolled up form held in his hand, and my faith in the CPR is re-affirmed. Thanks for all the entertaining comments though. Cheers, Dave

I think its a cigarette because it looks whiter than the rest of his hand.
