I think its an 0-8-0 rather than a 2-6-0 and it has the look of engines I have seen from Eastern Europe although what it would be doing in Nebraska I have no idea,as a fan of Welsh Narrow Gauge I think it looks great even though it is very dilapidated

Nice picture. The wheel arrangement is 0-8-0.

Looks like some wheels are missing, possibly two or four wheel leading and trailing trucks, the over-hang below the cab looks far to long not to have had support.

This is Northwestern Steel & Wire 0-8-0 No. 74 (before that, Grand Trunk Western 8374). For many years it was stored at Galt, Illinois, one of sixteen ex-GTW 0-8-0s owned by the Illinois Railway Museum. A few years back a railfan in Nebraska purchased the engine and moved it to Geneva for display. It is standard gauge and oil fired (converted by NS&W). Thanks for posting this; this is the first photo I've seen of it since it left Galt.

Thanks for the correction guys, and thanks for the historical info on this unit Jeff, I briefly talked to the brother of the guy who bought it but I wasnt able to get any info about it myself as I couldnt stay long because of a tight schedule.
