WOW, I grew up in that area, and used to ride my bike from Danville to WC back in the early 80s, but this is an incredible shot! You would nver guess its the same area now. I believe that intersecting street is Pine St.

What a wonderful shot! I grew up in Lafayette, right across the street from the SN right of way that has been EBMUD's hike and bike trail since the early 1970's, and the only SN I have ever known in Contra Costa County is the mainline cut back to Clyde, the Pittsburg depot, and I saw a couple of SN Detours to Port Chicago in the early 1980's behind WP/UP power. While there are many electric interurban photos taken in the Lafayette/Walnut Creek area, it is nice to see a diesel shot this far south.
