Not knowing me then was no excuse for not calling me (or at least my parents) and telling me this was running! Hmmm. that feels good to say on this site : ) Thanks for the window into 1978. Interesting "smoke box ornament".

I came across your posting and photo on yahoo groups.
Do you have any photos of the Wheeling Pittsburgh branch of the
B&O/Chessie/CSX?
The line ran between Wheeling and Pittsburgh via Washington, PA.
Also know as "The Pike" because it paralleled the National Road (Rt
40) for much of the way.
I am from Washington, PA and remember the Chessie Safety Express rolling through Washington but I had no camera. I only wish I had photographed the local railroads because they are just about all gone.
Having a hard time finding photos or info on this line.
