A sad end for the last SD40T-2 with SP reporting marks. This unit has been sitting in Roseville for almost 2 years now! Does it really take that long to strip the parts? At least we have an SD45T-2 preserved but hidden away in the Sacramento Shops. I guess it's better than nothing.

And a rare photo you've nabbed here Steve of the last active unpatched SP tunnel motor. As of today Saturday 04/26/08, the retired dead SP8283 for the first time in 2 years is no longer in Roseville heading East over Donner pass to North Platte, NE for sell-off/scrap. R.I.P. SP8283...
