I used to see the Iraqi RR running a train every few days when I was serving in Iraq at FOB Speicher near Tikrit. The service was irregular due to the insurgents blowing up the tracks every few days. I'm not sure but I think the locomotive is russian, does anyone know for sure?

These locos are not Russian made but Chinese. They are made by Dalian Locomotive Works (China), their type DF10Fl. There are on the Iraqi roster both French and Russian locos that look very much alike but they are in other number ranges.
